Fergus Wood
Fergus is a hill farmer with a close connection with traditional music. He is the founder, manager and a player in The Kinlochard Ceilidh Band, one of the top traditional dance bands in Scotland.
The Kinlochard Ceilidh Band have played all over the World in Asia, Africa, Australasia and North America. The band represented Scotland at the Millennium celebrations in the Epcot Centre, Disneyworld, Orlando, Florida. It has toured the mid-West (Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri) on three occasions, and played at the American-Scottish Foundation Ball in the University Club, New York in January 2005.
Fergus saw service with the British Army (Royal Highland Fusiliers) for over 22 years, finishing with the rank of Major and the Territorial Decoration. Fergus and his wife, Francesca manage the Scottish Sheepdog School which is based at Ledard Farm, Kinlochard.
