Everything Scottish for your bespoke wedding!
The piper and Gregor lead the wedding party a short distance up the farm driveway to the famous Helens pool waterfall which cascades 60ft high in the gorge directly behind the farm. This is a highly scenic setting for the ceremony at the base of the falls.
This takes place at the intimate setting of our decorated marquee and adjoining 17th Century Stables bar where champagne flows to a background of live traditional music.
The guests are piped into to the candle-lit MacGregor’s Barn, a highly intimate gathering place which was built in 1604. Its white stone walls are hung with the weapons and banners of Highland warriors from the days of the Jacobite Wars.
Your host Gregor explains the history of the barn and how the young Rob Roy MacGregor, just turned 18, had addressed his fellow clansmen at the feast of the Hairst Kirn in October 1689, held in the barn. Rob Roy described his experiences at the battle of Killiecrankie the previous July of that year, to the gathering. Sir Walter Scott was a regular visitor to the farm at which he wrote his novel, “Rob Roy”.
The ambience is set for the wonderful produce sourced locally, which is prepared and presented in to you in a traditional style with a menu tailored to your requirements.
